Tiny Desk Pets AI
Your pet at the mic of a cramped office desk concert: shelves of vinyl behind, a black zip hoodie, a headset with a little boom mic, and a band of dogs bobbing along. It closes its eyes on the big soul run, opens them into a huge grin, then a corgi takes the sax solo and everyone throws their paws up on the last note. 15 seconds, vertical, with the song. 10 credits at 720p.

What happens in the 15 seconds
Four shots cut like the clips going around, with your pet at the mic in every one.
The band shot (0-4.5s)
A slow push-in on the desk: your pet centre stage behind a red stage piano and a slim mic, a shiba in a white hoodie and a beagle in a red track jacket grooving on either side.
The close-up (4.5-10s)
Eyes squeezed shut on a big soul run, then wide open into the happiest grin you've ever seen on that face, one paw swaying with the groove.
The sax solo (10-13s)
Side-on: a corgi in a navy hoodie blows the saxophone in the foreground while your pet keeps singing behind it.
Paws up (13-15s)
Back to the band: on the last note everyone throws their paws in the air and your pet grins straight into the lens.
The outfit
Black zip hoodie with red trim and a headset with a boom mic. Your pet keeps its own fur, markings and face, and its paws stay paws.
The sound
A warm live soul and funk session: electric piano, bass, brushed drums, sax and a joyful lead voice, already in the video.

What is the Tiny Desk pets trend?
The format. Tiny Desk is NPR's concert series: artists squeeze in behind a desk in a small office packed with records and play a stripped-down set. NPR tells the origin story here.
The AI wave. In October 2026, AI parodies that drop someone into a beaming Tiny Desk session took off, led by an all-loss college football coaches version that The Athletic covered. For people, see our Tiny Desk AI video page.
The pet version. Then the dogs took over: a shiba, a golden and a beagle in zip hoodies and headsets behind a desk with a keyboard, a fluffy lead singer grinning through the chorus, a corgi on sax. The joke is how seriously they take it.
What this effect does. It puts your own pet at the mic as the lead singer, with a made-up dog band, record shelves and an original soul track. Nothing from the NPR series or anyone's clip goes into your video, and the set carries no logos.
Who to put at the mic
One photo is the lead singer. The band is always the same four-legged session crew.
Your dog
Any breed. If your dog is a shiba, beagle or corgi, that bandmate becomes a poodle so there's only ever one of your dog.
Your cat
A cat fronting a dog band is the funniest version. Same hoodie, same headset, same paws-up ending.
You
Add your own photo instead and you sing lead with the dog band behind you.
Tips for a better Tiny Desk pet video
Face to the camera
Eyes and nose clearly visible, ears in frame. The close-up is the star shot, so the face matters most.
Good light, true colours
Daylight or a bright room keeps the coat colour and markings right. Skip heavy filters.
One animal per photo
Crop out other pets and people so the right one gets the mic.
Try another take
Every take is a little different. A new one costs the same, a failed one nothing.
Put your pet in another trend
Same deal on every one: your pet's photo, the scene and the sound already set.
