A lot of Hotel Lobby clips you see online were made with Higgsfield, an AI video platform. Search for a Hotel Lobby tutorial and you will find several that use its Genjutsu tool.
This post explains what that workflow involves, where Higgsfield is genuinely strong, and when a simpler two-photo tool might suit you better. We will stick to feature names Higgsfield itself uses, and we have checked them against Higgsfield's own pages.
What Higgsfield Genjutsu is
Genjutsu is Higgsfield's video-to-video tool. You give it an existing video, and it changes selected parts while keeping the original motion and shot structure. Higgsfield's Genjutsu page lists two modes:
- Motion Transfer: keeps the motion and camera of the source video and rebuilds the scene, characters or look from your reference images.
- Object Swap: changes selected elements while leaving the rest of the original shot in place.
According to Higgsfield's own blog post about Genjutsu, a generation takes:
- One source video, between 4 and 30 seconds long
- Up to 30 reference images (characters, products, wardrobe and so on)
- An optional text prompt, plus 30+ presets
- Output up to 1080p
It uses Higgsfield credits. At the time of writing, the same post lists 40 to 144 credits, or about $2 to $7.20, for a 15-second clip, depending on length and resolution. Each generation shows its credit cost before you render, and you need a Higgsfield account.
How people make the Hotel Lobby video on Higgsfield
There are two common routes.
Route 1: Motion Transfer with the original clip
This is the approach that tutorials for the trend show:
- Sign in to Higgsfield and open Genjutsu.
- Choose Motion Transfer.
- Upload a clip of the Hotel Lobby performance as the source video (it has to be 4 to 30 seconds).
- Upload reference images of the two people or characters you want in the shot.
- Optionally add a prompt or pick a preset, check the credit cost and generate.
The result keeps the performance's movement, framing and timing, with your references rebuilt into the scene.
Route 2: Recreate from the community feed
Higgsfield has a community feed where people publish their generations. Each post has a Recreate button that opens the generation panel pre-loaded with that post's prompt and model. If someone has already published a Hotel Lobby generation, Recreate lets you start from their settings and change the inputs. What you get depends on what that person built, and community posts can change over time.
What that involves
Higgsfield is a capable, general-purpose tool. For this one trend, here is what the workflow asks of you:
- You need the source clip. Motion Transfer works from a video, so you need a copy of the performance. You are responsible for having the right to use that footage.
- You are working with the original song. If your output keeps the original "Hotel Lobby" audio, platforms like TikTok, Instagram and YouTube may mute, limit or remove it, just like any copyrighted track.
- There are more settings to get right. Clip length, trimming, reference images, prompts and presets all affect the result. That is power if you want control, and friction if you just want the meme.
- Costs vary. Credits depend on length and resolution, so it is worth checking the cost shown before each render.
- You need an account on Higgsfield.
Where Higgsfield is the better choice
To be fair, there are cases where Higgsfield is the right tool:
- You want to recast any video, not just Hotel Lobby.
- You want higher resolution output, up to 1080p.
- You want to use many reference images, or swap objects and wardrobe as well as people.
- You enjoy tweaking prompts and presets until a shot is exactly right.
If that is you, Genjutsu is worth learning.
The simpler way: two photos
If you only want the Hotel Lobby video with you and a friend, a purpose-built tool is less work.
RapVideo AI runs in a browser. You don't need a source clip, an app or any filming. Upload photos and you get a short video in about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add photos. Two photos with one person each, one photo of both people, or Solo.
- Pick a style.
- Original remake uses the real "Hotel Lobby" recording and its 14-second choreography with your faces on the two rappers. Because it is the original song, platforms may mute, limit or remove it, and you are responsible for how you share it.
- New song writes original lyrics about your topic (up to 120 characters, and the rap follows the topic's language), then generates the picture, two AI voices and the beat in one pass. It is original music, so it won't match the copyrighted track. There is no voice cloning.
- Choose a stage for New song: Hotel Lobby (orange booth, the default), Luxury Lobby or Studio Booth.
- Generate and download.

Photo tips
- One clear, front-facing face per photo, well lit
- No sunglasses, masks or heavy filters
- Half-body shots look best
- The photos don't need to be taken together
- Only use photos of people who agreed
Before you post
Whatever tool you use, the same basics apply. Get consent from everyone in the video. Don't present an AI clip as a real performance. And remember that Takeoff died in November 2022, so many fans feel strongly about this performance. Putting your own faces in the booth is the more respectful way to join the trend.
RapVideo AI is independent and not affiliated with Higgsfield, Migos, Quavo, Takeoff, Offset, COLORS or the song's rights holders. More on the format: Hotel Lobby AI, Migos AI and rap duo AI.
