The short answer
To do the AI trend on TikTok, pick the trend, add a clear photo of yourself (or one photo of each person), let the AI make the clip, then post it on TikTok and turn on the AI-generated label. The trends people are making from their own photos in October 2026 include Raindance, the gas station dance, the AI zombie hug, Hotel Lobby, APT., Gangnam Style, Alors on danse and Rumpelstiltskin. The studio on this page makes each of them in your phone browser in a few minutes, with no app, template or prompt. A 5-second effect is 5 credits, the 15-second trend remakes are 10, and a failed render is never charged.
How to do the AI trend on TikTok
A new AI format takes over the For You page every few weeks, and the comments always ask the same two things: how do I do this, and which app is it? For almost all of them the recipe is the same. You need a photo of yourself, sometimes a photo of a friend, and a few minutes.
- Pick the trend. Raindance is selected in the studio above. Tap another tile to switch, or use the list below to find the one you saw.
- Add your photo. One clear, front-facing photo of you. For two people, add one photo each, or one photo of both of you.
- Make it. Tap Make the effect. For Hotel Lobby, switch to the Rap video tab first. The clip is ready in a few minutes.
- Post it. Download the vertical MP4, upload it in TikTok, add the trend's sound if the clip doesn't already have it, and switch on the AI-generated content label before you publish.
The AI trends on TikTok right now (October 2026)
These are the trends you can make here today, each with its own page that explains the trend and opens the studio with it selected:
- Raindance. The 28-second pier-and-beach scene from the video of βRaindanceβ by Dave and Tems, recast with two people: one waits on the pier, the other sings to them. Photos: one of each person, or one of you both. It comes with the real song, lip-synced.
- Gas station dance. The 2024 road-trip clip remade with your faces: a wild dance on the forecourt, a selfie, a step out of the car. Photos: one to three; with one you play every part. 15 seconds with the original song on it.
- AI zombie trend. In an old cabin one of you aims a gun at the other, who has turned into a zombie, can't shoot and drops it; the leap cuts to a hug in a golden wheat field. 15 seconds with sound, no gore. Photos: two people.
- Hotel Lobby AI. Two people rapping in a bright orange booth, after Quavo and Takeoff's COLORS performance. Original remake uses the real song and moves (14 seconds); New song writes an original rap about you. Photos: two people.
- Migos AI. The name many people search for the same Hotel Lobby trend. The page covers the trap-style New song option, with AI voices that don't imitate any member of Migos.
- APT.. The opening of the ROSΓ and Bruno Mars video in the pink room: one of you on drums, one on the mic. Photos: two people. 15 seconds with the song.
- Gangnam Style. One of you stands deadpan with arms crossed while the other dances wildly behind, then you swap and do the horse ride side by side. Photos: two people. 15 seconds with PSY's song.
- Alors on danse. The white-studio sketch set to Stromae's song: one friend taps a little keyboard, the other hypes and laughs into the lens. Photos: two people. 15 seconds with the song.
- Rumpelstiltskin. The fantasy-film meme: one of you tiptoes in a long tailcoat and curled shoes, the other sits in the hay, hand over mouth and teary-eyed. Photos: two people. 12 seconds with the meme's Riff Raff track.
- Earth zoom out. Opens on your face and pulls back past the city and the clouds to the whole planet. Photos: one, solo or the two of you.
- AI hug. Two photos taken apart become one warm hug: a friend who moved away, a partner in another city, or you today with a childhood photo of yourself. Photos: two people.
Looking for something that isn't a trend? Money Rain, Red Carpet, Clones, Levitation and the rest are on the AI video effects page, and the AI video of yourself guide covers the solo ones.
What app is everyone using for the AI trend?
There isn't one app behind these trends. People make them with a mix of tools: CapCut templates, standalone AI video apps and general video models where you type a prompt. The same trend often comes from several of them at once, which is why the comments never agree.
Here it runs in the browser, on your phone or computer. There is no app to install, no template to search for and no prompt to write, because the scene, the moves and the camera are already set for each trend. You add the photos and download the result.
Tips before you post
- Start from a good photo. Sharp, front-facing, waist-up, with only one face in it. The clip can only be as recognisable as the picture.
- Keep it vertical. 9:16 is the default and the TikTok format. Square and widescreen are under Change model, resolution, length or format.
- Add the trend sound in TikTok. The zombie hug, the AI hug and Earth zoom out come with their own original sound. To use the trend's song, tap Add sound when posting, search for it in TikTok's sound library and turn the clip's original sound down. The remakes (Raindance, gas station, APT., Gangnam Style, Alors on danse, Rumpelstiltskin and the Hotel Lobby Original remake) already carry the song.
- Label it as AI. In TikTok's post settings, open More options and turn on the AI-generated content toggle. TikTok asks creators to label realistic AI content, and a label up front heads off the βis this real?β comments.
- Ask before you post someone. If a friend, partner or parent is in the clip, get their OK first. Never use a stranger's or a celebrity's photo.
- Write a caption that names the trend. People search TikTok by trend name, so βRaindance AI trendβ or βgas station danceβ in the caption helps the right viewers find it.
