Two photos: one raps the 679 hook at the mic, the other hypes. Both people are AI-generated.
"Fetty Wap 679 AI" is the name people type when they have seen the green-booth clip one too many times and want their own face in it. It is the same trend as "On the Radar AI" and "679 AI": a vertical freestyle session in a small studio lit neon green, two people at the mic, the "679" hook playing, and somebody who is clearly not Fetty Wap doing the rapping. On the Radar AI makes that video from your photo. This post covers where the clip comes from, what the AI version changes, and how to get a good one on the first try.
Where the green booth comes from

The original: Fetty Wap and Remy Boy Monty performing "679" for On The Radar Radio.
On The Radar Radio is a hip-hop channel that films artists performing in one small booth: green light, a round neon sign on the back wall, a mic with a pop filter. On 17 April 2026 it posted a session of Fetty Wap and Remy Boy Monty doing "679", the 2015 hit the two recorded together. One raps at the mic, the other bounces beside him and hypes. On TikTok that clip passed 19 million views, and its sound became one people recognise in the first second.
How it turned into an AI trend
The AI versions started in early September 2026. A CapCut face-swap tutorial posted on 5 September passed 2 million views, character swaps showed up on Instagram from 8 September, and a version with two TV detectives rapping the hook reached about 560,000 views on X on 14 September. After that came friends, coworkers, couples and a lot of dogs in headphones.
That is why the searches have three names. "On the Radar AI" comes from the channel, "679 AI" from the song, and "Fetty Wap 679 AI" from the artist. All three mean the same 15 seconds.
What the AI version keeps and what it swaps
| Kept from the clip | Comes from your photos |
|---|---|
| The green booth, the neon ring, the mic and pop filter | The rapper's face, hair and clothes (photo 1) |
| The four camera angles and where each cut lands | The friend's face and clothes (photo 2, optional) |
| The bounce, the hand chops, the lean into the mic | Whether the rapper is a person or a pet |
| The original sound, laid over the finished video | Nothing else: there is no prompt |
The rapper keeps their own outfit. Nobody is dressed as Fetty Wap, and no celebrity appears in the video.
Rapper and hype man
The clip has two roles, and most of its charm is the second one.
- Photo 1 raps. Headphones on, at the mic, centred for most of the video and in the side-angle close-up.
- Photo 2 hypes. Bouncing, laughing and pointing on the left of the frame. If you skip photo 2, a stranger takes that spot.
A single photo of the two of you also works; the person on the right of that photo raps. Separate photos give cleaner faces, so use them if you have them.
Pairs that work: best friends, a couple, two siblings, two coworkers who agreed to it. A dog at the mic is one of the most shared versions, and it stays a dog with its own coat. The hook has adult lyrics, so leave children out of this one.
Photos that come out well
- Eyes visible, face to the camera. The rapper is close to the lens for most of the clip. Sunglasses or a cap pulled low and the model guesses the eyes.
- Wear something you'd rap in. The outfit in the photo is what goes into the booth. A hoodie, a jacket or a plain T-shirt looks right under green light.
- Even light. The booth recolours everything green anyway; a photo with a harsh shadow across the face carries that shadow in.
- One person per photo. Group photos make the model choose, and it doesn't always choose the person you meant.
Making it
- Open On the Radar AI. The effect is already selected: 15 seconds, vertical 9:16, original sound.
- Add the rapper's photo, then the friend's if you have one.
- Press Make. The price is on the button; it takes a few minutes, and a render that fails is never charged.
If you don't like a take, run it again. Each one moves a little differently, and the new one costs the same.
About the lip-sync
The moves, the camera and the timing follow the original closely. The mouth follows the hook loosely, not word for word. That is true of every AI version of this trend we have seen, including the most viral ones, and on a phone screen it reads as you on the mic.
Posting it
The sound is already on the MP4, so download it and post. A few caption ideas:
- "we on the radar now 🎙️"
- "my best friend has never rapped a day in his life"
- "the dog went platinum"
- "679 but it's us"

FAQ
Is "Fetty Wap 679 AI" the same as the On the Radar AI trend?
Yes. Both names point at AI remakes of the On The Radar Radio session of "679" with other people in the booth.
Do I need CapCut or a template?
No. The CapCut template pastes one face onto the original footage. Here the whole clip is redrawn with you in it, and a second person can be in it too.
Does it include the song?
Yes. The matching 15 seconds of the original sound are on the video. You can mute it and add the sound from TikTok's library instead if you prefer.
Can I be the hype man instead of the rapper?
Yes. Put your photo second and your friend's first.
Can my dog rap?
Yes. Upload the dog as photo 1. It gets headphones and the mic and keeps its own face and fur.
