The short answer

To make an AI video of yourself, upload one clear, front-facing photo of you, pick an effect such as Earth Zoom Out, Money Rain or Levitation, and tap Make the effect. A few minutes later you can download a short clip with your face in every frame, made in your phone or computer browser with no app, no filming and no prompt to write. Add a second photo to bring a friend into it. It isn't free: a 5-second effect at 720p is 5 credits, packs start at $9.99, and a failed render is never charged.

How to make an AI video of yourself from one photo

When people search for β€œAI video of me”, they usually have one picture of themselves and want it to move: the camera pulling away from them into space, money falling around them, a red carpet full of flashes. Here that needs one photo and one tap. The effect takes the person from your picture, so your face, hair and clothes carry into the scene.

  1. Upload a photo of you. A sharp selfie or a waist-up shot, facing the camera, with only you in it. Choose Solo, or keep Two photos if a friend is joining.
  2. Pick an effect. Earth Zoom Out is selected on this page. Tap any other tile in the grid to switch.
  3. Tap Make the effect. The cost shows on the button first. A few minutes later the clip is ready to save and post.

There is nothing to describe or edit. The scene, the camera move and the soundtrack are built into each effect.

Effects that work with just you

These effects need only one person, so a solo photo is all you add:

  • Earth Zoom Out. Opens on your face, then climbs past the rooftops, the city and the clouds until the whole planet is in view.
  • Clones. Copy after copy of you steps out until a line of you strikes the same pose on a sunny street.
  • Raindance. You on an old pier at golden hour, warm rain falling, singing softly to the camera.
  • Gas Station Dance. The three-shot forecourt clip. With one photo you play all three parts: the dance, the selfie and the car exit (15 seconds, 10 credits).
  • Money Rain. Bills pour down around you on a neon street at night.
  • Red Carpet. A premiere walk with camera flashes going off on both sides.
  • Levitation and Angel Wings. You drift up off the floor, or white wings open behind you in warm light.
  • Turning Metal and Disintegration. Chrome armor locks on piece by piece, or you break apart into glittering gold dust.
  • Fireworks. A night sky bursting with color behind you.
  • Bring to Life. For an old photo of you as a child: the picture blinks, smiles and looks your way.

Each one is 5 seconds by default (Gas Station Dance is 15) and comes with its own soundtrack. See them side by side on the AI video effects page.

Make one with a friend

Every effect above also works for two people: add a photo of each of you, or one photo with both of you in it, and you share the scene. Some effects only make sense as a pair, so they ask for two people: the AI hug, the AI zombie trend, Slow Dance, and the trend remakes APT., Gangnam Style, Alors on danse and Rumpelstiltskin.

Want a song rather than an effect? Switch to the Rap video tab. Two photos become a lip-synced rap video with an original song written about you, 10 credits for a standard 12-second video. The AI music video generator and Hotel Lobby AI pages explain how it works.

Photo tips so your face stays recognisable

  • Face the camera. A front-facing photo with both eyes visible keeps your likeness better than a profile.
  • Use even light. Daylight or a bright room. Hard shadows across the face get carried into the clip.
  • Show your whole face. No sunglasses, masks, hands over the face or heavy beauty filters.
  • Get close enough. Waist-up is ideal. A small face in a wide shot or a group photo has too little detail to follow.
  • One face per photo. Crop other people out. For two people, use two photos or one clear picture of just the two of you.
  • Pick a recent photo. The video looks like the picture, so use one that looks like you now (unless you want your younger self).

Is it free?

No, and it is better to know that before you upload. Every render costs real money to make. A 5-second effect at 720p is 5 credits; longer or sharper clips cost more, and the price shows on the button before you commit. The smallest pack, the $9.99 Single, gives you 12 credits, enough for two 5-second effects. Pack credits never expire, monthly plans are optional, and a render that fails is never charged. Full prices are on the pricing page.

Only make videos of people who said yes

Making an AI video of yourself is the easy case: it is your face. Once someone else is in it, ask them first, and ask again before you post. Use photos of yourself, or of friends and family who agreed. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to agree. Leave out strangers, celebrities and anyone who would not want it. Your photos stay private and are only used for your render.
