The short answer

The Raindance AI trend recasts a 28-second scene from the music video of "Raindance" by Dave and Tems: on a wooden pier and a beach at golden hour, one person sits and waits while the other sings to them as the camera moves in. People swap in themselves and a partner or a best friend, or their pets: the trend started with two cats. Here you add two photos (photo 1 waits, photo 2 sings, or one photo of you both); the AI recasts the whole scene shot for shot, the singer lip-syncs the real song, and the song comes with the video. 28 seconds is 50 credits at 480p or 120 credits at 720p; a failed render is never charged.

The Raindance scene, with your faces

The trend took off on TikTok and Instagram Reels at the end of September 2026. Its source is the official video of "Raindance", Dave's song with Tems: a run of shots on a weathered pier and a sandy beach where one person waits, looking out to sea, and the other sings to them, reaching toward the lens, hugging themself in the wind, and finally sitting beside them on the sand. The trend keeps every cut, camera move and lip movement and only changes who is in it.

Our template follows that scene shot for shot: eleven beats over 28 seconds, the same cuts at the same moments, with your two faces in place of the originals and the clothes from your photos.

How to do the Raindance AI trend

  1. Add photo 1: the one who waits. They sit on the pier, watch, and twirl the singer at the end of it.
  2. Add photo 2: the singer. They sing every line to the camera. Or use one photo of the two of you (left waits, right sings). Pets work too: a dog, a cat, or your pet and you.
  3. Tap Make the effect. The 28-second video renders on our top model; it takes longer than a short effect.
  4. Post it. The song is already in the video. To land on the TikTok sound page as well, tap Add sound, pick "Raindance" by Dave and Tems and turn the original sound off.

What you get

  • The whole scene. The pier, the singer's close-ups, the twirl at the end of the pier and the two of you on the beach at dusk: 28 seconds, 4:3 like the original.
  • The real song. The matching part of "Raindance" is laid over the finished video, so it sounds like the trend.
  • Lip-sync. The singer's mouth follows the vocal line by line.
  • Your faces and clothes. Each person keeps the face, hair and outfit from their photo.

Tips for a better Raindance video

  • Give the singer a sharp, front-facing photo. Most shots are close-ups of the singer, so that face matters most.
  • Waist-up rather than full-length. Small faces in group photos are harder to keep.
  • For a pet, a sharp photo with its face in view. Sitting up and looking at the camera works best; it keeps its own fur and markings.
  • Choose who sings. Swap the two photos if you want the other person to sing.
  • Use photos you are allowed to use. Yours, or a friend's or partner's if they say yes.

The trend

What is the Raindance AI trend?

The song. “Raindance” is a song by the British rapper Dave featuring the Nigerian singer Tems. Its music video has a slow, golden-hour scene on a wooden pier and a beach, and that scene is what the trend copies.

The scene. From 0:52 to 1:20 of the video, a man sits at the end of the pier looking out to sea while Tems sings to him: close-ups by the water, a hand reaching toward the lens, arms crossed in the wind, a twirl at the end of the pier and the two of them on the sand at dusk. Twenty-eight seconds, eleven shots.

How it became a trend. On 25 September 2026 an account posted an AI version with two cats in the two parts. The next day a version with real people, posted on TikTok by @beshhq, took off and pulled in millions of views. Within days couples, best friends and pet owners were all recasting the scene with their own faces.

Now with your photos. You don’t need the pier or the sunset. Add two photos and the AI plays the one who waits and the one who sings, in the same eleven shots, with the song already on top.
