The short answer
The AI zombie trend is a short AI film in which someone you love has turned into a zombie: you aim a gun and can't shoot, you drop it and open your arms, and their leap cuts to a hug in a golden wheat field. Here you add two photos (or one of you both) and get the whole 15-second film with sound, in 16:9 or 9:16, in a few minutes. At 720p it costs 10 credits, about one $9.99 Single; 480p costs 7. A failed render is never charged.

What happens in the video

0โ3 s
The cabin. Tears, a raised gun, and the one who turned walking closer.

3โ4.5 s
The face. Grey skin and clouded eyes, but still clearly them.

4.5โ8 s
The leap. The gun drops, the arms open, and they run and jump.

8โ15 s
The memory. The leap lands as a hug in a wheat field, both of you alive.
The shot list
Every clip follows the same seven shots, timed to 15 seconds. Photo 1 is the survivor, photo 2 the one who turned.
| Time | Shot | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 0โ1.5 s | Extreme close-up | The survivor in tears, aiming a handgun at the lens, hands shaking |
| 1.5โ3 s | Over the shoulder | The one who turned staggers closer across the cabin |
| 3โ4.5 s | Extreme close-up | The zombie face: grey skin, clouded eyes, still the same person |
| 4.5โ6.5 s | Medium shot | The gun is lowered and dropped, arms open, eyes closed |
| 6.5โ8 s | Wide, side-on | The one who turned sprints and leaps; the shot ends in mid-air |
| 8โ11 s | Match cut | The same leap lands in a wheat field at sunset: alive, caught, spun round |
| 11โ15 s | Close-up | Foreheads together, a hand on the cheek, sun flare |
How to do the AI zombie trend
- Add photo 1, the one who holds the gun. A clear, front-facing picture. This person stays human all the way through.
- Add photo 2, the one who turns. Or switch to one photo of you both: the person on the left holds the gun, the one on the right turns.
- Pick 16:9 or 9:16 and tap Make the effect. A few minutes later, download the MP4 and post it.
Three ways to make it
| What you do | Good to know | |
|---|---|---|
| An app template | Find the template from a trend video, sign in to the app, add your photos and export | The route most tutorials show; you need that app and an account there |
| A prompt in a video model | Write a long shot-by-shot prompt, attach two photos, retry until the faces hold, often join two clips in an editor | The most control, and you pay for every retry |
| Two photos here | Add the photos and tap one button | The shot list is built in, the film comes out in one piece, and a failed render costs nothing |
The prompt we use
Prefer to make it yourself in Seedance, Kling or Veo? This is the gist of what our generator sends with your two photos (@image1 holds the gun, @image2 turns). Five lines do most of the work:
- Keep the survivor human. Describe their skin as clean and healthy, with only tears; otherwise the zombie look spreads to both faces.
- List only what changes on the zombie. Skin, eyes, veins, clothes. Leave the hair out, so it stays as in the photo and you can still tell who it is.
- Drop the gun as its own action. Say it falls to the floor and stays there, or it tends to come back up a shot later.
- Place both people in the leap. A side-on wide shot, survivor on the right, the one who turned on the left, ending in mid-air before they touch.
- Write the cut in terms of the leap. The same framing and the same poses, now in the wheat field; and give the memory at least four seconds, or it gets squeezed to one.
Who it's for
- Couples. The original take: your partner turns and you are the one who can't shoot.
- Parents and grown-up kids. A mom and her daughter, a dad and his son; one photo of the two of you works.
- Best friends and siblings. The same film, and the same lump in the throat.
- Pets. Not yet: this film is made for two people for now.
Photos that work best
- Front-facing, whole head in frame. Each face carries through all seven shots, the zombie one too.
- Even light, nothing over the face. No sunglasses, masks or heavy filters.
- Two different people. Two photos of the same person come back as twins.
- Adults who agreed to it. The film has a gun in it, so leave children out.
What's new on this page
- โ Rebuilt around the trend's real story: the gun, the leap and the cut to the wheat field, 15 seconds, widescreen by default. The earlier foggy-street hug is still there as Zombie Hug.
