🤬 The Bad Times argument, with you doing the yelling

Bad Times AI

Add one photo and have the whole over-the-top argument with whoever is holding the phone: head in your hands, a hand on the hip, both palms up for "no, stop", then the lunge at the lens, mouth on the words of "Bad Times". 15 seconds, vertical, with the sound. Your dog or cat can do it on its hind legs.

The trend

What is the Bad Times AI trend?

The original. French creator @bouuhyachaka posted a close-up of herself mouthing "Bad Times" by Imael Angel on TikTok on 20 August 2026, and on 9 September the version everyone copies: a full-body take in her kitchen, captioned "Ça va barder!!", where she argues with whoever is filming for the whole song. Head in hands, hand on hip, palms up, a finger in the lens. Both passed 18 million views.

Then the dogs. From late September the argument moved to pets: a black shepherd on its hind legs doing every move in a kitchen (10 million views in three weeks), then huskies, cats, toddlers and couples. That is when "Bad Times AI" became a search of its own, because the pet versions are made with AI, not trained dogs.

What this effect does. It redraws the same 15 seconds of the original take with you in it, move for move and beat for beat, in a bright kitchen, and lays the song over the finished video. A pet from your photo stands up on its hind legs and argues with its own paws.

The song. "Bad Times" is a deep-house track credited to Imael Angel. It is widely reported to have been made with AI music tools, and "is Imael Angel AI" is one of the most searched questions around the trend; neither the artist nor the label has confirmed either way.

Six beats, one take

What's in the 15 seconds

One continuous phone take, the same beats as the clip the trend remakes, so it is recognisable before the first line lands.

Head in hands

Bent forward, both hands on the temples, eyes shut: everything has gone wrong.

Hand on hip

Up and sassy: one hand on the hip, the other flapping by the face, fingertips to the forehead, eyes closed, over it.

"No, stop"

Both palms out, shaking on the beat, with the side-eye that made the clip.

The lunge

A shrug, a pout, then straight at the camera until the face fills the frame.

The finger

Pointing and wagging at whoever is filming, singing the line right into the lens. A dog does it with its paw.

The sound

The song laid over the finished video, so the moves land on the same words as the original.

Casting

Who has the argument

One photo, one subject. Use photos of yourself, of people who agreed, and of your own pets and kids.

You

The fastest way onto the trend: you, in your own clothes, yelling at the person filming.

Your dog

Up on its hind legs for the full take, paws on its head and paws at the lens, its own coat and markings. The pet versions are the ones people send to five friends.

Your cat

Same routine, same attitude, which cats bring anyway. One cat, face clearly visible in the photo.

Your kid

The toddler versions are a big part of the trend. Only a parent uploads a child's photo, and the video stays private to your account.

Photo tips

Tips for a better Bad Times video

Face to the camera

Front-facing, evenly lit, no sunglasses: the last four seconds are a close-up of the face.

Your outfit comes along

The clothes in your photo are what you argue in, trousers and shoes included. A full-body photo gives the best match.

Pets: show the body

A photo that shows the animal's body, not just its face, helps it stand up with the right proportions. One animal per photo.

Try another take

Every take moves a little differently. A new one costs the same, a failed one nothing.

FAQ

Bad Times AI: questions

What is the Bad Times AI trend?

AI remakes of @bouuhyachaka's TikTok argument to "Bad Times" by Imael Angel (the kitchen version posted 9 September 2026), with other people, and above all pets, doing the routine. The dog versions from late September made it a trend of its own; people search for it as "Bad Times AI", "Bad Times AI trend" and "Bad Times dog".

Is "Bad Times" by Imael Angel an AI song?

Nobody has confirmed it. Several write-ups say the track was made with AI music tools, lyric sites tag it as AI, and "is Imael Angel AI" is one of the most searched questions about the song; the artist is credited as a real person and has not said how it was made. The video you make here is AI-generated either way, so label it as AI when you post.

Who started the Bad Times trend?

The French creator @bouuhyachaka. Her close-up lip-sync on 20 August 2026 and the full kitchen take on 9 September each passed 18 million views on TikTok; the pet versions followed in late September.

How do I make a Bad Times AI video?

Add one photo of yourself or your pet, keep Bad Times selected and press Make. A few minutes later you have the 15-second clip: the six beats of the original take, with the sound, ready to post.

Can my dog or cat do it?

Yes. Your pet stands up on its hind legs and does the whole routine with its own paws, keeping its breed, coat and face. A photo that shows its body helps.

Does it use my own room?

The argument happens in a bright kitchen like the original's. Your face, hair, skin tone and clothes come from the photo; for a pet, its coat and markings.

Will my mouth match the words?

The moves, the camera and the timing match the original take, and the mouth follows the song closely in the close-up at the end; in the wider beats it follows loosely. On a phone screen it reads as you singing it.

Can I post it on TikTok with the sound?

The song is already in the video. When you post, TikTok or Instagram may match it to the official sound, and you can swap that in from the app. Label the video as AI-made, as the platforms ask.

Can I use a celebrity's photo?

No. Use photos of yourself, people who agreed to be in the video, and your own pets and kids. Photos are private and used only to make your video.

How long is it, and what does it cost?

15 seconds, vertical. The credits show on the button before you press Make, a failed render is never charged, and pack credits never expire.

Having a bad day?

One photo of you or your pet in; 15 seconds of the Bad Times argument, with the sound, out in a few minutes. A failed render is never charged.
